About The Series

The Life of Emily Alistair is a reality series that follows the life of model Emily Alistair as she navigates her career path through the worlds of art and fashion.  Currently filming in locations as diverse as Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, the Cayman Islands, Mexico and, gulp, Detroit, The Life of Emily Alistair is an entertaining and incredibly sexy look at one model’s experiences both on and off set.

Until July of 2015, Alistair was based in Los Angeles and working as a professional model in a lot of commercial shoots where she played ‘the soccer mom’.  “It was really weird,” Alistair states.  “I was like 21-years old and already typecast as ‘the mom’.  Apparently, toothpaste sells really well when I’m seen holding it.”

Quickly tiring of the generic nature of the commercial modeling grind, Alistair began to plot her escape.  “I’d done a number of high-fashion and artistic shoots when I first got into modeling,” Alistair says, “And I loved them.  They made me feel alive!  But my representatives kept pushing me to get away from that style of modeling because they thought it would hurt my commercial brand.”  She sighs, “I turned down a number of gigs that I was really excited about because my representatives encouraged me not to do them.  It was then that I knew there was a problem: I was turning down work I wanted to do so it wouldn’t impact my chances of doing work that I was growing to hate.”

After investigating a major change in career paths and potentially going to graduate school in psychology, Alistair came to a striking realization.  “I wasn’t tiring of modeling,” she says, “I was tiring of commercial modeling.  I’d see a movie like Nightcrawler that was shot in actual locations that I’d frequent and think, ‘I want to do something with that kind of lighting scheme!’  Then I’d go to my next gig and it’d be in the produce aisle of a grocery store.”

While pondering this new direction, Alistair met producer Chris Neumer… for a second time.  “I was first introduced to Chris like five years ago through a friend of a friend,” Alistair recounts.  “I knew he was in production and my friend spoke highly about him.  That was about it.  Then we bumped into each other at a house party in Larchmont Village in early 2015.  We were chit-chatting about things and I told him what was going on with my modeling: basically that I wanted to do some edgier, sexier stuff but that I wasn’t sure how I was going to go about it.”  Alistair laughs, “His eyes nearly popped out of his head.  He only said one thing: ‘We need to shoot that journey!’”

“I never especially thought of myself as a reality star,” Alistair states.  “As a matter of fact, I specifically thought of myself as someone who would never do a reality show, so I turned Chris down flat.  I told him that I wasn’t interested in having someone else create my own story, so I was going to decline.”  Alistair pauses for a second.  “Then he threw me for a loop,” she says trailing off.  “Chris told me that he’d make me his producing partner; I’d be in the editing room, the story meetings and that I’d be in control of what we released.”  Alistair breaks into a hearty laugh.  “How do you turn that down?” she finally asks.  “I still don’t think of myself as someone who would ever do a reality show… it’s just that now I’m doing one on my terms.”

The Life of Emily Alistair is currently in production and filming.  The first episodes will be available in August of 2016.  Follow Emily Alistair on Facebook for more details as they become available.
